Game Dev Greet N’ Roast with Hog Roast Broadstairs

Hog Roast BroadstairsThis week Hog Roast Broadstairs had the privilege of joining a group of local game developers in Broadstairs who added our catering to their casual monthly meet up.

The group began as an effort to connect various local developers with an interest in potential collaborations (or anyone that just wanted to meet other locals from the industry) and has since been able to grow to hosting regular activities and meetups throughout the year. Their most popular, by far, has been their monthly chat and dine nights wherein the group will typically pick somewhere to eat set up at a venue where they can order from elsewhere. This month, they came to Hog Roast Broadstairs for their catering. We’re no game developing gurus, but we reckon we can level up their meetup dining!

Hog Roast BroadstairsBecause it is a casual event that anyone can show up to, the group could not be definite about their numbers prior to the event, however that was not an issue for the Hog Roast Broadstairs chefs. We knew that cooking up one hog roast would likely be enough to satisfy the group seeing as that alone could feed even one hundred guests if it came to that. The group were happy with this idea and then opted to have our hog roast served as pulled pork rolls. This came at our recommendation since we knew the event was more geared toward discussion and moving around, so you don’t want to have guests confined to a whole roast plate at a table. As an alternative to our hog roast, there was also our BBQ pulled jackfruit for the vegetarian and vegan guests.

It proved to be an excellent choice. Around 20 to 30 guests made it in the end, and with our hog roast rolls going down a storm it was handy that we had plenty of meat on hand to keep those second and third courses coming. Our chefs were also fortunate enough overhear some exciting game ideas throughout the event, even if it did largely go over our heads. We’ll stick to what we do best, cooking great hog roasts, and just fuel up those that can do the coding and designing!
