Hog Roast Pluckley – Local Olympians Say Yes to Hog Roast Pluckley

While the Winter Olympics go on in Milan, what a coincidence that the Hog Roast Pluckley team should run into a former local Olympian here in Kent.

Well, we say run into but it was more of a case of cater for as our chef’s team cate out to a quiet event near the village. Said Olympian was a guest at a 45th birthday party where we were catering, and to their credit they were gracious enough to allow our brief starstruck gazing before then coming to chat to us about our foods and the event. As down to earth as you could want for someone who is a former Olympian, and more than happy to chat about the current Winter Olympics in Milan.

We didn’t allow our celebrity guest to throw us completely from our service, however. After a few photos it was back to catering for the birthday host and their 60 or so guests – including, of course, our new Olympian friend. The Hog Roast Pluckley signature hog roast now has the Olympic seal of approval as guests enjoyed our juicy pulled pork served with golden crackling, sage and onion stuffing, fresh apple sauced, roasted new potatoes, seasonal green leaves, gourmet slaw, and gluten-free rolls and wraps.

We had many guests coming back in for seconds after a first buffet round, including our Olympic guest who could not get enough of our hog roast specifically. On their second run they enjoyed mixing it with our BBQ pulled jackfruit vegan alternative, just to see how the tastes differ and even combine. To their amazement, once all mixed together they could barely discern the different between each! We’ll take that as an official mark of credit to the brilliance of the Hog Roast Pluckley chefs and our long-marinated jackfruit.

The birthday girl also had a wonderful time, we are glad to say, and didn’t mind too much that her Olympic friend took up some of the attention. It’s just something you come to expect when friends with a former Olympic athlete, apparently!

Our thanks again to the host and all guests at this fun event – both Olympian and non!
