Catering in all Weathers!
This spring the Spitting Pig Kent team has worked extremely hard, we’ve catered for all kinds of events in all kinds of settings ranging from garden parties and wedding receptions to birthdays and corporate events The great british weather has been typically unpredicatable, but we have risen to the challenge whilst catering for our outdoor events.
A particularly memorable event had the team battling wind, rain and a storm to top it all off! Thankfully we were able to use our initiative and keep everything running smoothly. The Gazebo was securely hammered into the ground so the guests had somewhere to shelter, whereas we cooked and served the food and got wet instead. If that’s not commitment I don’t know what is! A good time was had by all and the pig roasted beautifully despite the appalling weather.
In early June we were proud to cater for the ‘Hackney Pirates’ who had organised a charity music festival in the Woods for the grand total of two hundred people. The event was called ‘The Wild Things’ and helped to raise funds for their work with young people in after school clubs – a very worthy cause! Spitting Pig Kent decided to support them as much as possible and donated a roasting pig, as did the Butcher of Brogdale. The succulent pig roasted perfectly, complements were paid to the team and everyone was well fed, happy and enjoyed the music.
Later that month we catered for a more formal ocassion, BMW launched their 2012 range and decided we were their caterers of choice for the celebratory event. Spitting Pig Kent threw their all into this and arranged for a dance floor, mobile bar, tables, chairs, crockery and even the champagne and glasses to toast the evening. This was a brilliant opportunity to show off our catering skills – canapes and champagne were served as a reception introduction and for the main meal we cooked and carved a flame roasted pig served with stuffing, garlic and rosemary roasted new potatoes, honey glazed parsnips, cauliflower cheese, carrots, green beans and lashings of gravy. The desserts went down very well – black forest gateaux with profiteroles drizzled in chocolate and a quenelle of cream, finished with teas and coffees. Full waitress service was provided to the seated guests, and we were thrilled to take part in such a high profile ocassion.
At Spitting Pig Kent we are very busy and these are just a small selection of the events we catered for. The company is going from strength to strength, we’re pleased to announce that the building works at the Brogdale Estate are coming on well and we hope to have use of an office there from August. Once set up we’d love you to come and see how versatile our roasting machines are. We are particularly keen to demonstrate the Titan Spit Roast and the Home Roasting Machines and how they function equally well as BBQ machines. Just to tempt you we’ll be offering free samples of belly pork, lamb kebabs, flavoured sausages and home-made beef burgers. In addition to this we will be offering special rates for Hog Roast and BBQ days on Sundays over July, August, September and the summer holidays.
