Earlier this winter, Hog Roast Chartham was contacted by a local rugby team to arrange catering at their upcoming charity event. The team is hosting a 24-hour sporting event, with a variety of activities including matches, biking, and running. The event aims to raise money for the team to keep operating in 2024 and to raise money for a rugby tour around Europe. To raise awareness of the event and to attract more spectators, Hog Roast Chartham has been hired to provide a delicious buffet meal for the team and guests to enjoy. After looking through our menus, it was decided that a classic hog roast would be ideal since it is a warming and hearty meal that our team can easily provide to large groups of guests.
On the day of the event, the Hog Roast Chartham team arrived at the rugby club in the afternoon and began to prepare the menu. We started by slow-roasting the hog to perfection and allowing it over five hours to cook through. Once ready, the pork was expertly carved and served in fresh bread rolls, alongside sage and onion stuffing, homemade applesauce, and crispy crackling. For the selection of sides, we also provided homemade chips, gourmet coleslaw, and a selection of seasonal salad dishes. Our catering was a great addition to the event and was perfect for enjoying on a cold winter evening. Plenty of spectators arrived to view the event and enough money was raised to save the club for the 2024 season!
