This weekend we had a very special event planned. We had been enlisted to cater at the 60th anniversary of Jackie and Leonard. As many of you may know sixty years is the ‘Diamond’ wedding anniversary and so Jackie and Leonards’s family had planned an elaborate afternoon tea style party for them to celebrate their relationship over the years.
We arrived at Jackie and Leonard’s daughters’ home where the party was being held bright and early to ensure we would have everything cooked to Hog Roast Ramsgate perfection for when the guests of honour arrived. The house and garden had been decorated beautifully with banners, streamers and photographs from each decade of their sixty years together. It was wonderful walking around the house and you really got a feel for the couple’s relationship and all that they had accomplished together, including raising a beautiful family.
We set up our Hog Roast Ramsgate machine in the garden, as although we can cater indoors there wasn’t much room and the idea was that guests would mingle outdoors and fingers crossed the weather would hold out for a lovely little garden party. On today’s menu, we had a classic slow roasted leg of lamb that our Hog Roast Ramsgate chef expertly seasoned with rosemary and garlic. We would be serving this up alongside some seasonal roasted vegetables, vibrant salads and put on some butcher’s selection burgers and sausages for the children to enjoy. Our chef also brought along a spectacular vegetable tart which he had made himself in the morning before bringing it to the family home. One thing we are truly passionate about here at Hog Roast Ramsgate is that our food is always made with the freshest and best quality ingredients which we source locally wherever possible.
The party was well underway with the guests of honour, Jackie and Leonard arriving to a round of applause and hugs from all of their guests. What a lovely couple, and here’s to many more years together!
