Refuelling After the Marathon with Hog Roast Ashford

Hog Roast AshfordAfter more than 26 long miles through Kent in the Kent Marathon, the best thing for your recovery is a great big meal cooked and served entirely for you. Fortunately, for customer Grace that took on the Kent Marathon this past year, that was exactly what was waiting for her with Hog Roast Ashford!

Having run a couple marathons all across the UK now, Grace had the foresight to plan well ahead for her post race recovery. She knew that the first thing she would want would be something comforting, meaty, a good bit of protein, but most of all delicious and served hot and right away. That took her to Hog Roast Ashford because our hog roast rolls fit all of the requirements that she had set. It would be easy to just grab one, slump down in the nearest seat she could find, and just start wolfing down at least two, maybe three or four rolls, right away!

Hog Roast AshfordOur Hog Roast Ashford chefs were delighted to accept the call (mostly because we could then say we went to the marathon without actually having to put on our running shoes and shorts to run it). With the race starting early in the day, we ran our own race at the Hog Roast Ashford kitchens to get everything ready for later in the day. We set our pork to roast, gathered our fresh ingredients and rolls, and set off to where we had planned to meet Grace and her family group near the finish line. She told us that she expected to run the race fairly quick, so we knew that we would need to have our own trainers on to race there just as fast so that we could be ready with hot rolls and fresh sides right away.

We had our pulled pork ready just in time for Grace to reach us, along with fresh salad, slaw, mixed sweet and regular potato fries, and grilled veg and halloumi skewers too. I don’t think we have seen many customers more delighted and grateful to see our Hog Roast Ashford chefs as Grace stumbled to our serving table and took her hog roast roll with glee!
