While Hog Roast Woolwich often caters all kinds of parties and events all over the county and in and around London, we don’t often cater christening celebrations in military barracks. However, just recently, we had the pleasure of doing just that at the famous Royal Artillery Barracks in Woolwich. Home of the Royal Artillery between 1776 and 2007, the Royal Artillery Barracks is known for having the longest continuous Georgian building facade in this country and it also has the largest parade square of any UK barracks, and that’s just where we served up a hog roast feast for 80 guests.
When Scott asked Hog Roast Woolwich to provide the catering for this special occasion, he asked for our simple yet highly tasty pigs in buns to be served to the guests. To create these lovely little masterpieces, we prepare and then slowly roast a hog at your venue for a few hours until perfectly cooked on the inside and outside, and then the meat rests a short while before the next stage of filling the bread rolls. We stuff hot, fresh, tender bits of meat and salty crackling into the rolls and add our own apple sauce and stuffing before pointing you in the direction of the condiments, incase you want to add a little extra flavour to the hog roast rolls. While they’re already packed with flavour by this time, sometimes a little bit of sauce is just what’s needed to finish it off nicely.
In addition to providing our customers with high-quality meat dishes, including the hog and spit roasts that we’re renowned for, of course, Hog Roast Woolwich can also supply additional menu choices if you have any guests with dietary needs. For this christening celebration, our chef John also provided a vegetarian option. With advance notice, we can cater for any dietary needs, whether they are due to allergies, intolerances or beliefs, and we often supply veggie, vegan and gluten-free dishes at parties and events. Whatever you have in mind and wherever that may be (even a christening in an 18th-century barracks!) Hog Roast Woolwich can cook the kind of food that you want to be served to you and your guests.
