Hog Roast Whitstable – A Saturday Wedding in the Sun with Hog Roast Whitstable

Hog Roast WhitstableSummer belongs to wedding dining. Ask any caterer and they will confidently tell you that the summer is by far their most popular period of the year. When the sun comes out people just want events. When it comes to picking a time of year for your wedding, of course you are going to pick the summer. The weather is on your side for photos, outdoor dining, garden parties, and just the overall atmosphere that bright sunshine brings.

It’s no wonder, then, that the Hog Roast Whitstable team have been whipped off our feet in the last few weeks with multiple weddings each and every weekend. Friday through Sunday – it’s wedding after wedding!

This past weekend was no different, with the Kent team coming out on both the Sunday in Faversham and Whitstable on Saturday. We want to tell you just a little more about the Saturday wedding, where the Hog Roast Whitstable team catered a glorious southern slow roast menu for 50 guests out in the bright sun.

With the World Cup currently on in North America, a lot of attention is of course being paid to the USA. The world is discovering all kinds of parts of American culture, including their cuisine. At Hog Roast Whitstable we have long been adept with the American cuisine, having borrowed from one of their long-standing barbecue traditions to create our very own Southern Slow Roast. Unlike our barbecues here, the southern slow roast is very much about heat and smoky barbecue flavours. Foods are cooked low and slow for hours, rather than thrown on the grill and served up within ten minutes. The result is a quality of meat that is beautifully tender and intensely flavourful.

For this wedding on Saturday, this is exactly what guests were treated to by head chef Matt and the Hog Roast Whitstable team. BBQ pork butt, Cajun spiced chicken thighs, and some gourmet style beef burgers for a touch of Britain’s own barbecue tradition. Served along with veggie alternatives of grilled veg and halloumi skewers, veggie burgers, and accompaniments of buttered corn cobettes, creamy mac and cheese, and roasted new potatoes, it was a perfect menu for yet another perfect wedding service in Hog Roast Whitstable’s summer season!Hog Roast Whitstable
