You might expect that after a very bust festive period the Hog Roast Tonbridge team would be looking for a nice and tempered ease into the year, but it has been anything but in 2026 thus far!
Already we have had a very sudden winter storm thrown our way to test our catering capabilities. Any time you are figuring out the logistics of something as big as an event with many people, even something as simple as the weather has to be a consideration. We have travel plans to consider, spacing considerations when we are at an event and need to set up our hog roast machine, service styles to think about – be it an indoor service or an outdoor. So, when something like Storm Goretti comes around all of a sudden, our experience in the catering field really has to come to the fore to navigate all the potential difficulties that a sudden tonne of snow or high wind could pose.
To the credit of the entire Hog Roast Tonbridge team however, our events have still managed to go off without issue for the most part. Sure, it may have been a lot colder when setting up our hog roast machines than we might have liked, but that is why we have something as warm and comforting as the hog roast in the first place; there’s no better antidote to the cold than a delicious, sizzling pulled pork roll with plenty of bubbling crackling and tasty stuffing! The Hog Roast Tonbridge team has worked extremely hard in this early year period to ensure that our guests still get to have an enjoyable and seamless dining experience at our events. An event should be the time where guests can forget about the tougher weather outside; they are there to enjoy one sole experience and we are a big part in delivering it to them.
We have to credit our venues and hosts too, however. Without their ability to adapt as well then the Hog Roast Tonbridge team would have a much more difficult time too. In working together all of us have been able to face the challenges of the storm head and still get 2026 off to as smooth a start as possible with our events – even it if has not been quite as quiet as envisioned…
