It has got very cold all of a sudden, hasn’t it? It has felt a little like we’ve slid right from summer, skipped on past autumn, and hit winter straight away with the sudden plummet in temperatures. Still, all that means to the Hog Roast Pluckley team is that we now have a job to do in bringing back the heat and comfort to your events!
That job is easy when you have a speciality and menus like ours. As roast catering and fine meat specialists we have comfort dining in abundance! So, then, when we were called out to a very special 60th birthday party this past weekend, we knew exactly what was going to be needed to heat up the night!
It wasn’t to be our signature hog roast, no. This time that particular treat stayed back home while Hog Roast Pluckley’s very special southern slow roast menu came out to add some much needed sizzle and spice to a cold October night. When you’ve got a wintery birthday the first thing you want to do is get the party warm immediately. Guests are going to be coming in from the cold and looking to get warmed up quick. With our southern slow roast awaiting them, brushing off the icy cold is easy! Inspired by the spicy barbecue style of the American south, our southern slow roast menu packs in the heat and flavour with spicy and smoky flavours abound across its selection of tender and juicy meats.
For this 60th party the Hog Roast Pluckley team opted for the BBQ pork butt, Texas style 24 hour beef brisket, Cajun spiced rotisserie cooked chicken, and grilled veg and halloumi skewers as a veggie option. The key to packing in the heat and flavour with each of these meaty mains is to cook them low and slow – hence the name of the menu. This allows each to really intensify; all the BBQ and spice rub marination that our chefs have conducted really comes to the fore the longer the meat cooks for. Come serving time at the 60th, the cold of the winter night was always most assuredly going to be sizzled away in an instant for each and every guest!
