It has always been an important part of our service at Hog Roast Hoath to be adaptable. The thing with event catering is that you cannot always quantify for everything. There are always going to be parts of the day out of your control, and the true measure of any caterer is how you then adapt to them to still create a good experience for the guest.
Will if ever that needed proven, it certainly was at this chaotic wedding in Hoath at the weekend! Everyone in Kent will have seen the wild storm weather from this past weekend. Now imagine trying to cater for a wedding in it! But the Hog Roast Hoath team are nothing if not determined and adaptable. We leaned into the chaos that the wild weather presented, and rather than allowing for any disappointment on someone’s special day, we ended up turning into something that will just be another fondly remembered quirk of a truly special day!
Plans had been for a canapes and drinks service in the mid-afternoon with our main dining to follow in the early evening. Of course, with the weather striking when it did, the delivery of each became a little more frantic, as you might expect! Still, however, both the Hog Roast Hoath team and guests really leant all the way into the circumstances and did the best we could. The franticness ended up being just part of the fun of the day, with a rush to get our foods out quicker than the storm could snatch them away. Under the circumstances, we reckon we all did pretty well!
We still got our canapes out: a selection of mini beef fillets in Yorkshire puddings, mini pizzas, roasted duck wraps, and Scottish smoked salmon slices. The main event then consisted of a rotisserie cooked chicken and our signature hog roast, with accompanying sides of herb dressed new potatoes, red cabbage slaw, classic Caesar salad, and heritage tomato and buffalo mozzarella salad.
Great dining for a crazy day – but that is just what you get sometimes in event catering, and that is why Hog Roast Hoath always comes prepared for any eventuality!
