Saturday 26th July marked a special celebration for Paul in Staplehurst, as he gathered 100 of his nearest and dearest to mark his birthday in true summer style—with a sizzling hog roast served up by Spitting Pig Kent. Hosted at Paul’s home, the garden transformed into the perfect backdrop for an evening of great food and relaxed celebration. Catering Manager Matt and the team arrived in the afternoon to set up, allowing guests to enjoy the build-up while tantalising aromas filled the air.
The highlight of the menu was our classic Hog Roast – slow-cooked to perfection with golden, crispy crackling and tender meat carved fresh in front of guests. Alongside this, we served up a duo of crowd-pleasing vegetarian and vegan options: Grilled Vegetable and Halloumi Skewers and BBQ Pulled Jackfruit, both packed with flavour and ideal for guests looking for a meat-free alternative.
To accompany the mains, we offered a mix of sweet and traditional fries, all served in eco-friendly wooden bamboo crockery and cutlery, in keeping with the informal and sustainable garden party vibe. Gluten-free rolls ensured that everyone had something to enjoy.
The atmosphere was exactly what you’d want from a summer birthday gathering—plenty of laughter, great conversation, and full plates. As guests mingled with a drink in hand, our team made sure everything ran seamlessly behind the scenes, from serving timings to tidying away.
