Now that it’s nearly Christmas and the days and nights are getting cooler, we’re starting to serve more winter warmer menus to our customers. This includes your choice of roasted meat (either a hog or a spit roast) and your preference of seasonal vegetables. Whether you’re a fan of traditional veggies such as carrots, onions, and cabbages, or something a bit more posh like butternut squash, courgettes, and celeriac, we can cook whatever you choose to serve your guests.
For his 40th birthday party, Joshua asked us to provide a winter warmer hog roast Canterbury, that we would prepare and cook from raw, outdoors at his home venue. For his preferred vegetables, Joshua asked us to roast a tray of aubergines, courgettes, peppers, and onions, together in a tomato passata. Being a self-confessed foodie, Joshua had seen something similar on a Mary Berry TV programme, and he thought it would tickle his taste buds, and hopefully those of his guests, too. We are very adaptable to our customers’ needs, so this lovely-sounding concoction wasn’t a problem for our chefs.
On the day of the party, we went along to Joshua’s home and set up our gazebo and serving station in the large back garden. We’d brought with us a medium-sized hog to roast slowly for a few hours. It would feed much more than the number of invited guests, but the birthday boy wanted to ensure that everyone could eat as much as they liked and that they could even take home bags of leftovers if they wanted, which is often the case at hog roast Canterbury!.
A few hours after the hog roast Canterbury had started cooking, the roasting trays of vegetables in passata were being cooked in the hog roast machine, too. Our machines are so versatile that you can cook an entire meal in one, and on this day, we had the hog roasting away at the top, the veggies in the trays underneath, and a couple of baked potatoes in there too, for a vegetarian guest.
At service time, we had lots of hungry folks happily digging into their winter warmers. The pork and crackling slices and vegetable sides easily filled the plates, and Joshua was more than pleased with all the tastes of his chosen menu.
