If you’ve been following along you’ll know very well by now that it is wedding season at Hog Roast Broadstairs. Always a busy time for any caterer, never mind one that specialises in well roasted meats, the summer wedding season is a constant race from one wedding event to the next each and every weekend. Not that we’re complaining; at Hog Roast Broadstairs, we can’t get enough!
And now as we’ve crossed the halfway point of July, we’ve also roughly hit the midpoint of the wedding season too. It’s not an exact science as there is often quite a bit of bleed over into September and even October, especially as the summer sun continues to last for longer and longer each year. But for now we’re calling it the midpoint, and what a time it has been so far – and there’s little sign of it slowing down anytime soon!
In fact, we had yet another wedding this past weekend to cross us over into the latter half of the summer wedding season, which felt appropriate to tell you all about. Held here in Broadstairs, it was a nice and fairly modest one with around 60 guests for our catering team to feed. But even a modest wedding doesn’t mean modest dining, especially where Hog Roast Broadstairs are concerned!
It was to be our signature hog roast dining experience, cooked and served fresh on site for the ultimate in wedding dining experiences. If temperatures were raised through the weekend, we might have added on a few degrees more as our signature hog roast cooked away in the fiery spit style, sizzling and turning to a perfect golden hue to glisten even greater in the summer sun. Come serving time, it was up to head chef Matt to finally carve the pork and dish it up for all 60 guests along with buffet options of gluten-free sausages, crackling, sage and onion stuffing, apple sauce, mixed leaves, tomato and mozzarella salad, creamy red cabbage coleslaw, herb dressed new potatoes, and grilled veg and halloumi skewers as a veggie alternative to our pork roast.
It’s not the first time that such a wedding menu has been seen this summer season, and it very much won’t be the last at Hog Roast Broadstairs!
