No matter what the event, whether it be a wedding, small garden party, a works do or even a children’s birthday, here at Hog Roast Hever, we enjoy catering for any type of event.
Around summer time, we become very busy with big seasonal parties and last year, Hog Roast Hever catered for an event that we won’t forget. This was one of our largest challenges as we were requested to serve 300+ party goers in a large field over a 3-hour period. As always, we were happy to take on the challenge and organised a large buffet with plenty of meat for the hosts.
Sarah and Fin, the party hosts and happily married couple, ordered our large party menu. This included an extra-large pig, several servings of our famous crackling, a large selection of salads, 4 trays of our new potatoes in herb butter, fluffy bread rolls and a selection of sauces.
We arrived at Fin and Sarah’s chosen venue early afternoon to set up our work stations. The sun was beaming down on us, creating a beautiful day for a party! From our Hever team, we brought a chef and two catering assistants to ensure our service was flowing perfectly. After a couple of hours, our large hog was roasting away in our own machine and creating the richest of smells. When the mass of guests arrived, they crowded around our table to inhale the gorgeous fumes rising from the food. By 4pm, all our buffet was ready to serve. The hundreds of guests began queuing up in an excitable manor, ready to pile up their plates with tender hog and warm potatoes.
‘I’ve never tasted meat quite like this’, I overheard Fin say to one of his guests. Hog Roast Hever pride themselves on quality service, whether it be to a small audience or many customers at once.
After the buffet was devoured, we ensured all our work station, machinery, cutlery and rubbish was tidied away before we left. We always offer this service to our guests to take the stress off the clear up therefore they can enjoy their guests.
