We had a lovely time catering for Martin’s 50th birthday bash over the weekend. A few weeks ago, Martin’s wife, Lorraine, called us to find out what food services we provide, as she had been recommended to The Spitting Pig Kent by a friend who had told her about our delicious spit roast chicken. Confused a little, Lorraine wanted to check if we had indeed provided a chicken for her friend’s anniversary party. We had and we explained in detail that while we make, sell and hire out hog roast machines, they can actually be used to cook other food on. We can do your catering for you with meat other than pig, on a spit roast instead or with barbecue attachments that we provide. We’re a versatile catering service with versatile machines, helping customers to have great parties and events with all kinds of food.
Lorraine said that the party would be quite small and intimate, which is never a problem for us, as we can quite happily and easily cater for a few people, a large party or even up to thousands of guests. The menu for Martin’s birthday was to be a simple hog roast in Egerton with some nice, fresh salads on the side. We prepare and roast your hog for a few hours (it depends on the weight of the pig and the weather) and then get the salty crackling out before carving the pork into slices. This is then served inside soft, floury buns and you can add our special stuffing, apple sauce and any condiments that you choose, as well as some tasty crackling if you like. 
Martin’s birthday came round and we set off while it was still dark. We were due to serve the small pig late morning, which is quite rare for us as it’s usually between lunch and evening, but there were plans for Martin later in the day, too, and the hog roast in Egerton was only part one of his birthday. As the hog was all ready to carve, the guests crowded round our gazebo. We served the birthday boy first and his smile said it all.
