We had a call from the local old folks home few weeks back and they asked if we could come and cater with a Hog Roast Frittenden for their oldest resident Ron who would be turning 100 years young! We said we would consider it an honour! Ron was a former chef in his younger days so we were out to impress!
We arrived early morning and set were shown into a large airy room to cater from the room had posters all over the walls of Ron showing him as a child and him cooking in some first class hotels and restaurants over the years we were intrigued and knew that Ron knew his stuff. We were asked to cook some beef, Ron’s favourite, and we placed a lovely plump brisket on the machine to cook. We then placed some parsnips and diced spiced potatoes on another machine to cook. We then prepared some salads and an array of dressings and dips. We were super excited to meet Ron and couldn’t wait until he sampled the Hog Roast Frittenden.
We were shocked as we turned and saw a striking man come towards us and he introduced him self as Ron we were all stunned as we would never have taken him for 100! He said the Hog Roast Frittenden food looked amazing and his mouth was watering at the smell of the beef. Soon he was joined by the other residents and families and they all watched as our chef sharpened his knives and began to slice the beef, Ron said he was going to be honest and he said ours was the best beef he had ever tasted in his life. We were thrilled to hear that! The guests all said the same and we had a lovely day chatting to Ron he said he had tasted hog roasted food before many years ago but it wasn’t no where near as good as ours. We stayed back and all joined in singing happy birthday to Ron and watched as he blew out the 100 candles on his cake and he did it with ease- one of the nicest events we have ever hosted it was such a pleasure.
