No. As part of our promise to quality and authenticity, each dish made at Hog Roast Margate has come by our expert chef’s own hands. We’re not buying in cheap frozen foods and ready meals; we’re not looking to cut corners with reheated foods or any kind of fast cooking process. When we picked hog roast dining as our signature catered experience, we wanted to commit fully to it.

Hog roasting is a culinary art that takes time. You can’t rush it, otherwise what is really the point in doing it? The long, slow and low cooking style is part of the point. It allows the pork to get really nice and tender while having that good crisp charring around the skin for added flavour and texture. You can’t rush it, and honestly why would you? The spectacle of the hog roast atop the spit is the second part of its charm – there’s no way to cut the corner, and neither should there be.
With that commitment to our hog roast we couldn’t then turn around and cut corners on our other dishes. Customers aren’t coming to Hog Roast Margate for fast dining; they are coming for a quality experience. Every dish you see at your event will have been made that from home ingredients and meats. We remain committed to fresh quality always. You’ll be dining on prime cuts of beefs, lambs, chicken, from some of the best British farms and stocks. We make sure to use these meats well while they are at their freshest. We’ll be cooking them on site at your event for even more added quality. With the hog roast needing at least 6-8 hours to cook, that leaves plenty of time for our chefs to prep every other accompanying dish from fresh, ready for serving at your event after being made there also.
Our sourcing team put a tonne of effort into finding the best vegetables, meats, ingredients so that our chefs always have the best to work with. Any roast is only ever as good as the meats it begins with, so we’re only working with the best, most fresh available.
